For the title of this post, I’m borrowing a phrase from Nereo Sciutto, who spoke about SEO and the Italian market at the GT Forum in Riccione. It’s the perfect introduction to a short story I’d like to share.

In the title of this post, I borrow a phrase from Nereo Sciutto, who spoke about SEO and the Italian situation at the GT Forum in Riccione, to share a little anecdote.
I have a private email inbox that doesn’t use my real name but an old nickname. It’s an absolutely consumer account, so much so that its domain belongs to a portal that was popular in the early 2000s.

I receive an email and Outlook’s antispam filter catches it. While I was about to empty the junk folder, I glanced quickly at the content, which both piqued my curiosity and annoyed me. Basically, the Italian “spammer” company claims they can work miracles with site ranking using automatic but “natural” keywords, with more or less guaranteed placement. These guys, in short, seem to have invented the patent SEO professionals have always dreamed of. The email reads:
